Cameron Highlands is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Malaysia. Known for its greenery, peaks, and hills, it has attracted many nature lovers up the highlands for its cool weather throughout the year.

With its favourable temperature of between 17 to 23 degree celcius, it gives people a cooling and relaxing atmosphere while touring in the bustling agriculture destination.

If you are keen on a tour to Cameron, here are some of the things you have to do there!

1. Boh Tea Plantation

You heard of Boh Tea right? You might have drank it as well. Now, how about a visit to the plantation? The tea company was founded in 1929 and covers 3 plantations. The path that guide you through the plantation is amazing, just like what you will see below.


2. Farms

As many of us are city dwellers, we might not see as many farms around us anymore. That’s a reason why you have to see them at Cameron Highlands!

The cool temperature allows many types of fruits and vegetables to harvested. When you head a trip to Tringkap or Kuala Terla, you will see large vegetable farms which grow our common vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower, spinach.

If you are lucky, you can also find large strawberries in some of the farms too!


3. Markets

If you would like to shop, then don’t worry. You have markets at Cameron Highlands too. There are two types of markets there – Pasar Pagi (Morning Market), and Pasar Malam (Night Market).

You can find anything there at the markets, from fruits, to handicrafts, to gifts.


Desaru, Johor, one of the most beautiful unspoiled beaches in the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

With a 22km stretch of uninterrupted gorgeous beach, it is a popular destination for tourists all over the world.

Desaru combines the captivating panoramic views of the South China Sea with the lush tropical rainforests, where guests can have a choice of fun and adventure or simply rest and relax. There were lots of activities at the beach, including jet ski, family donut and banana boat.

If you want to go beyond the beach, there are also a number of interesting tour programs and activities which includes:

  1. Desaru Fruit Farm- A well organized, 100 acres farm, can get you educated on the subjects as tropical fruits, local herbs, wild bee’s honey or Bio Agroculture – all in entertaining and friendly manner.
  2. Desaru Ostrich Farm- Established in 2001, this showfarm breeds around 300 of these big, strong animals. A group of experienced personnel will guide you around. For more adventurous visitors a ride on trained bird’s back is available. The local shop sells many ostrich-derivative products and their restaurant can treat you with ostrich satay, burger or their egg’s omelette.
  3. Fireflies Watching: For a fresh seafood (including lobster), BBQ or western cuisine, go to the floating Restoran Terapung Bujang, a boat next to mangrove wood. You can also entertain yourself with a river cruise, fire flies watching, fishing or karaoke.
  4. Tanjung Balau Museum (Fishermen Village)- The small fishing village is worth visiting, not only for the fresh and tasty seafood, but also in order to get a glimpse of the slow-paced life led by this community. A stroll along the streets of a fishing village can prove quite enriching, especially if you have never had a close look at a fisherman’s home. You can also pay a visit to the local artist and his small gallery, showing modern paintings and installations inspiried by the local nature and lifestyle.

Genting Highlands

A festival filled with fun, food and games called “Pesta Air Papan” celebrated every 1st May each year always draw a huge visitors to the beach.

Mersing is also usually serves as a jetty stop before reaching some islands such as Pulau Tioman or Pulau Aur. Visit the Mersing Marine Park Centre if you wish to go to the various marine parks off Mersing coastline. Since Mersing is the hoping off point to the islands in the Seribuat Archipelago, the Centre is a good place to start if you want to find out more about Johor’s islands before visiting them. Located in the middle of Mersing town, the Centre acts as the administrative, management and information center for the 13 islands off the north-east coast of the State of Johor.

Port Dickson

Feast on delicious seafood and relax causally on the stunning beaches of Port Dickson, one of the most popular destinations in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. Contrary to normal beliefs, Port Dickson is not just one beach!

Instead, it is an 18km strip of coastline in Negeri Sembilan state with a series of beaches.

This small town used to produce charcoal. but it was later developed as a small port by the British during the Straits Settlement period.

Immerse yourself to the golden sand and the crystal clear water. There are plenty of water sports vendors here. One of the best location for family trip.
